About Us

hello there,

We provide evidence-based perinatal support for mothers on their conception, pregnancy and motherhood journey, supporting women like you to honour yourself, redefine your motherhood experience and feel more aligned, confident and strong.

From our founder, Rebecca Black:

When I was pregnant with my first baby, I was terrified of giving birth.

I assumed birth would be painful, frightening and something I simply had to get through. My plan was essentially: give me all the drugs.

Then I discovered HypnoBirthing, and something shifted.

For the first time, I began to understand how powerful our beliefs about birth can be. I learned about my body, the physiology of birth and the role that fear can play in our experience. Slowly, fear was replaced with curiosity, confidence and excitement.

I went into birth feeling informed, empowered and genuinely looking forward to meeting my baby.

And then came motherhood.

Nothing prepared me for how profoundly becoming a mother would change me.

My early experience of motherhood was beautiful, but it was also exhausting, isolating and incredibly challenging. I threw myself into caring for my baby and, somewhere along the way, stopped caring for myself.

I questioned whether I was doing things “right”. I struggled to trust my instincts. At times, I felt as though I had completely lost the person I had been before motherhood — while also knowing I could never quite go back to being her.

What I didn’t understand at the time was that I was experiencing matrescence: the enormous physical, psychological, emotional and social transformation that occurs when a woman becomes a mother.

As a psychologist, that realisation changed so much for me.

I began to see just how much attention we give to preparing women for pregnancy and birth, while often leaving them incredibly underprepared and unsupported for the transformation that follows.

Because when a baby is born, a mother is born too.

And she deserves care.

She deserves to be supported through birth rather than simply told to endure it. She deserves somewhere to talk about the complicated, contradictory realities of motherhood. She deserves support when she is overwhelmed, anxious, grieving, disconnected or simply wondering, “Is it meant to feel this hard?”

That belief became The Mindful Birth Movement.

I created this space to support women through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and the transition into motherhood — with compassionate, evidence-based psychological care, education and community.

Not to tell women there is one “right” way to birth or mother.

But to help you feel informed, supported and more trusting of yourself as you navigate one of the biggest transitions of your life.

Because you were never meant to do this alone.
