Jane Brincat
Mental Health Occupational Therapist
Jane is a mother of two beautiful kids, and a Mental Health Occupational Therapist. Inspired by her own journey of becoming a mother, she is passionate about supporting other women through matresence and adjusting to the many demands of motherhood.
Through the lens of occupation – that is, all the things that we ‘do’ – Jane recognises the enormous transformation that occurs in becoming a mother. She acknowledges how truly unique this is for everyone through pre-conception, conception, loss, pregnancy, birth, post-partum and parenthood.
Jane will guide you to find yourself so that you feel fulfilled in your new role as ‘mum’. Together, you will understand what is getting in the way of you doing the things you want and need to do, acknowledging the competing demands of early parenthood. Jane will also work with you to find solutions that promote your ability to perform all the tasks of motherhood in a calm, confident and meaningful way.
Jane is currently completing training in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (also know as the Possums approach). This ground-breaking theoretical work reframes the care of parents and babies across the domains of breastfeeding/feeds, infant cry-fuss and sleep problems, infant sensory-motor needs and parent mood that supports the long-term health and well-being of both mother and child. Jane is excited to share her learning with you and offer support in these areas.
Jane also provides occupational therapy services for NDIS clients, including parent coaching for children receiving early intervention funding.
Jane offers her services in person at our clinic in Heathmont, by telehealth and in the comfort of your own home.
